Lark(!) publishes original poetry, prose, audio, and visual work. We currently accept electronic submissions only. Please see the genre guidelines below for further details. Lark(!) will acquire one-time, first North American and Internet rights. This means that we will not accept previously published work. We do, however, accept simultaneous submissions if so noted. Please notify us immediately if your submission is accepted elsewhere.
With your submission, please include your name, e-mail address, and a “clever” one sentence bio with a link. Consult past publications on Lark(!) for examples.
Lark(!) does not solicit donations, does not apply for grants, and does not include advertisements anywhere on the site of its publications. Consequently, Lark(!) is unable to pay authors for work(s) accepted.
Please allow six weeks before inquiring about the status of your submission.
We are currently accepting submissions in the following areas:
Poetry: Please submit no more than five poems by pasting them in an e-mail addressed to lark.magazine@gmail.com (subject line: Poetry Submission). If the poems use a sophisticated layout, please attach them as a single Word (doc) or Rich Text (rtf) file.
Prose: Please submit no more than three pieces (500 words or less) by pasting them in an e-mail addressed to lark.magazine@gmail.com (subject line: Prose Submission). If you have a longer piece (500+ words) you believe Lark(!) would really, really like, please attach it as a Word (doc) or Rich Text (rtf) file.
Artwork and Audio Files: Please submit no more than three pieces in an e-mail addressed to lark.magazine@gmail.com (subject line: A/V Submission). Attach your work in the file format that best preserves the integrity of your work (preferably jpeg for artwork, mp3 for audio).
